Novel coated balloon presented as treatment for stenosed arteries

B. Braun has signed a licensing agreement on the further development and marketing of a new technology for the treatment of stenosis of the coronary arteries using a novel coated balloon catheter coated with paclitaxel.

Dr. Bruno Scheller, a cardiologist at Saarland University Hospital, presented the results of the "Paccocath" pilot study at this year's annual conference of the American Heart Association in Chicago. The data was published in parallel in the New England Journal of Medicine.
