Hand-held diagnostic technology firm unveils an automated, electronic lancing system

Pelikan Technologies, Inc., a developer of hand-held diagnostic technology, announced the public debut of the Pelikan Sun lancing device. The device, which received U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance in April 2003, was unveiled to physicians and other industry representatives at the scientific sessions of the American Diabetes Association.

"The Pelikan Sun lancing device is the first product to emerge from our proprietary technology platform, making this introduction a significant milestone for Pelikan," said Pelikan's president and CEO, Dirk Boecker, MD, PhD "This is a truly innovative product that promises to dramatically improve the lancing process...
