U. of Miami Medical Center selects wireless LAN for its medical community

Meru Networks, a provider of converged voice and data WLANs technology, has been selected by the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine to provide wireless services to its clinical, research and educational staff, medical students, and visitors, and clinical facilities in south Florida.

The Meru WLAN infrastructure will enable wireless access to e-mail and Internet, real-time access to patient data, streaming video and voice communications, facilities and support services programs, and other applications.

Within the next 2 years, the network will be scaled to support an estimated 700 to 2,200 concurrent wireless connections...
