U.S. FDA approves first kit for genetic DNA-based testing for cystic fibrosis

Luminex Corporation (LMNX) partner, Tm Bioscience (Tm), announced earlier this week the company received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for their Tag-It Cystic Fibrosis kit (CF).

This is the first FDA cleared test for cystic fibrosis.

The American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG) and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) recommend making genetic CF testing available for all couples seeking preconception or prenatal care.
