Investigators in Israel, France and Ireland have published new anesthesia data. Study 1: The Laryngeal Mask (LMA) Unique (Laryngeal Mask Company Limited) and the Cobra Perilaryngeal Airway (PLA, Engineered Medical Systems) are both suitable for use in spontaneously breathing patients under general anesthesia. The LMA Unique and the Cobra PLA "are single-use supraglottic devices," anesthesiologists in Israel explained. "There are no published studies comparing these devices during spontaneous ventilation."
