Biomedical diagnostics company ThromboVision receives first DeBakey Life Science Award

ThromboVision, Inc., a Houston, Texas-based biomedical diagnostics company, has won the first Michael E. DeBakey Life Science Award, which was presented to a Houston-area company with "leading-edge commercial potential." ThromboVision was chosen from a field of 18 for the award, which carries a $50,000 cash prize to assist in propelling the company's technology toward commercial success. The award was presented to ThromboVision's president and CEO, Edward R. Teitel, MD, JD, MBA, by DeBakey, Malcolm Gillis, PhD, BioHouston chairman, and John Mendelsohn, MD, president, The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, at BioHouston's 2006 Texas Life...
