Studies from J.E. Varela et al provide new data on hiatal hernia

According to a study from the United States, "Laparoscopic approaches for paraesophageal hernia repair and the use of prosthetic reinforcement materials during crural repair have become standard. However, the search for the optimal prosthetic material and techniques for placement and fixation methods are still controversial and under investigation."
