Research on essential hypertension reported by scientists at University of Copenhagen

New investigation results, 'Exercise training normalizes skeletal muscle vascular endothelial growth factor levels in patients with essential hypertension,' are detailed in a study published in Journal of Hypertension. According to recent research from Copenhagen, Denmark, "Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) protein and capillarization were determined in muscle vastus lateralis biopsy samples in individuals with essential hypertension (n=10) and normotensive controls (n=10). The hypertensive individuals performed exercise training for 16 weeks."
