Technology expands to independent imaging centers

A magnetic resonance (MR) system has been installed for the first time at an independent imaging center. The MR technology traditionally is available only at large medical centers.

The MAGNETOM Avanto from Siemens Medical Solutions, a 1.5 Tesla MR system with total imaging matrix technology (Tim), is being offered to independent diagnostic imaging centers. Tim is a whole body surface coil design that can scan up to 6 feet 9 inches without having to change coils or reposition the patient
