Whole-body imaging aids diagnosis in blunt trauma patients without signs of injury

According to scientists in the United States, "The use of liberal whole-body imaging (pan scan) in patients based on mechanism is warranted, even in evaluable patients with no obvious signs of chest or abdominal injury."
Ali Salim and colleagues at the University of Southern California wrote, "Patients admitted following blunt multisystem trauma received a pan scan, including computed tomography of the head, cervical spine, chest, abdomen, and pelvis, with the following inclusion criteria: no visible evidence of chest or abdominal injury,...
