Esophageal carcinoma staged preoperatively with multidetector CT and virtual endoscopy

"The aim of this study was to assess the accuracy of MDCT, including VE for detection, precise localization, preoperative evaluation and staging of EC by comparison with surgical and histopathological findings. Between September 2003 and April 2005, 44 patients with histologically proven EC underwent MDCT and VE. Among 44 patients, the findings were confirmed in 24 at surgery," scientists in Turkey reported.
