Researchers' work from Johns Hopkins University, Department of Radiology focuses on hepatic fibrosis therapy

A report, 'Can imaging modalities diagnose and stage hepatic fibrosis and cirrhosis accurately,' is newly published data in Journal of Hepatology. According to a study from the United States, "The accurate diagnosis and staging of hepatic fibrosis is crucial for prognosis and treatment of liver disease. The current gold standard, liver biopsy, cannot be used for population-based screening, and has well known drawbacks if used for monitoring of disease progression or treatment success."
