Contrast ultrasound perfusion imaging is a novel diagnostic method in peripheral arterial disease

In a pilot study of contrast ultrasound perfusion imaging (CUPI), peripheral artery disease (PAD) patients show a significantly longer time to peak intensity (TTP) than control subjects.

According to a researchers in Germany, "The purpose of this study was to establish contrast-enhanced ultrasound perfusion imaging (CUPI) of the lower extremities as a novel noninvasive diagnostic tool for patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD)."
