Study 1: Morbid obesity with small bowel obstruction after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass are best treated by laparoscopic surgery.
According to recent research from the United States, "The resultant derangement of the normal gastrointestinal anatomy after a gastric bypass procedure increases the incidence of, and level of difficulty diagnosing, partial small bowel obstruction (SBO) in morbidly obese patients. We evaluated the diagnostic methods for partial SBO and the clinical characteristics according to the time after initial operation."
