Primary hyperaldosteronism subtypes are best diagnosed by adrenal vein sampling

Adrenal vein sampling is superior to computed tomography for subtype differentiation of primary hyperaldosteronism.

According to recent research from the United States, "Adrenal vein sampling is superior to computed tomography for subtype differentiation of primary hyperaldosteronism. This study was a retrospective review of forty-eight patients (32 men and 1.6 women) with biochemically confirmed primary hyperaldosteronism at a university medical center."
