Aetna To Cover New Chicken Pox Vaccine

Published in Medical Letter on the CDC and FDA, July 3rd, 1995

"We hope chicken pox will soon become a distant memory." said Gail B. Promboin, announcing that Aetna Health Plans (AHP) will provide coverage for the new vaccine for varicella and underwrite costs for some uninsured children to receive immunizations.

The vaccine recently was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Promboin is a senior program officer of the Aetna Foundation Inc., of Middletown, Connecticut.
