Tenover Rates 10 Tools For Testing Drug Resistance

Researchers evaluated ten commercially available tests for vancomycin resistance in enterococci and found that most broth- and agar-based methods were highly effective if used correctly. Automated systems presented some problems, however, especially in detecting low-level resistance.
