CDC Says TB Control Efforts Must Not Lapse

HIV associated tuberculosis is on the decline in areas of the United States where TB control efforts are aggressively applied, but these efforts must not be allowed to lapse, according to a report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The report noted that advances in molecular biology, clinical practice, and public health policy over the past five years are encouraging and suggest that HIV related tuberculosis can be controlled.
