"Identification and Analysis of a Gene Differentially Expressed in Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv."

Published in Medical Letter on the CDC and FDA, July 8th, 1996

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 96th General Meeting of the American Society for Microbiology, held May 19-23, 1996, in New Orleans, Louisiana, "Using an RNA-based subtractive hybridization method, the virulent M. tuberculosis H37Rv strain was hybridized to the less virulent H37Ra strain. The isolated RNA from the two strains were reverse transcribed to cDNA using AMV reverse transcriptase. The cDNA was then hybridized and the resulting cDNA subtraction products were used to identify approximately 9 kilobases of M. tuberculosis chromosomal DNA.
