CDC Reports Progress Toward Goal of Global Eradication

Countries on the Indian subcontinent, which account for more than 60 percent of cases of polio worldwide, have scheduled simultaneous National Immunization Days for December 1996 and January 1997, and health officials believe that this coordination of efforts will have a major impact on the number of new cases of polio in their countries.
