"The Decision to Participate in HIV Vaccine Efficacy Trials: An Assessment of Changing Willingness Among Homosexual Men."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 11th International Conference on AIDS, held July 7-12, 1996, in Vancouver, British Columbia, "Objective: To prospectively evaluate the willingness of homosexual men to participate in HIV vaccine efficacy trials. Methods: From January 1993 to July 1994, 2191 men from Chicago, Denver, and San Francisco were enrolled in the study. As of May 1995, 1267 men completed baseline (BL), 6-, 12-, and 18-month interviews. Willingness to participate (WTP) was assessed at each visit using a 4-point scale.
