"An Epidemiologic Study of TB Among Mexican-Born Patients in the Four U.S. States Bordering Mexico, 1995-1996."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, North American Region, Second Mid-Year Conference, held February 27 - March 2, 1997, in Chicago, Illinois, "In 1995, 8% of the 22,860 U.S. tuberculosis (TB) cases were among Mexican-born (MB) persons. The majority of the MB cases (81%) were reported in the 4 U.S. States on the border with Mexico. Limited information is available on the health-care seeking behaviors and migration of this population which may effect treatment and outcome.
