CDC Reports Highest Ever Flu and Pneumonia Vaccination Rates

In 1995, state-specific, self-reported influenza and pneumococcal vaccination rates were at the highest levels ever reported in the United States for persons 65 years of age and older.

Vaccination levels against influenza and pneumococcal disease increased steadily from 1973-1993, said the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ("Pneumococcal and Influenza Vaccination Levels Among Adults Aged > 65 Years United States, 1995."
