The report previewed the education campaign to increase awareness among health care consumers and providers about Helicobacter pylori's link to peptic ulcer disease.
The survey findings suggest that only 27 percent of health care consumers knew that peptic ulcer disease was caused by a bacterial infection. Due to this lack of knowledge, it is possible that persons with ulcer symptoms may not seek appropriate treatment and may self-medicate with over-the-counter medications, CDC said...
