Researcher Rafael Rubio and colleagues suggested that tuberculosis history should be taken into account when considering whether to give HIV positive patients preventive therapy for MAC.
The Rubio et al. report was one of several addressing mycobacterial infections among HIV infected persons at the American Society for Microbiology's 37th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC), held September 28 to October 1, 1997 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
