Health Officials Blamed for California High School Outbreak

An 1993 outbreak of drug-resistant tuberculosis at a California high school might not have occurred if health officials had been more vigilant in following prevention and control procedures, according to a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report.

The CDC investigation found that the source case for the outbreak remained infectious for almost two and a half years.
