Drug Resistant TB Spread in NYC Hospital Nursery

What is believed to be the first documented outbreak of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis in a hospital nursery has been reported in New York City.

The outbreak, investigated by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), occurred at a large urban hospital and may have involved four newborns, one mother, and three healthcare workers.
