A small Pennsylvania town was the site of a 1995 outbreak involving 22 people, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports.
"This outbreak of legionnaire's disease in a small Pennsylvania community provides additional evidence of airborne transmission of legionnaires' disease," Anthony E. Fiore and colleagues wrote ("Epidemic Legionnaires' Disease Two Decades Later: Old Sources, New Diagnostic Methods," Clinical Infectious Diseases, February 1998;26:426-433).
