Vaccination Could Be Linked to Autism

Published in Medical Letter on the CDC and FDA, March 16th, 1998

British doctors have identified a new bowel disease in children which could be linked to autism and the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccination, they said.

Dr. Andy Wakefield and colleagues at the Royal Free Hospital and School of Medicine in London, United Kingdom, said most of the children with the disease developed symptoms after the vaccination, but they stressed that their research, published in The Lancet, did not prove a link.
