Initiative Aims to Prevent Bloodborne Disease Transmission and Bleeding Disorder

The National Prevention Awareness Campaign is a new National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF)/U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention initiative to promote the prevention or reduction of the complications of bleeding disorders.

These prevention messages include exercise and early treatment, vaccinations for hepatitis A and B, testing for hepatitis C, annual comprehensive evaluation at an hemophilia treatment center (HTC), and universal precautions when handling blood products.
