Cocaine Overdose Deaths Higher in Hot Weather

Cocaine is even more dangerous on hot days, when the risk of death from overdose increases significantly, according to an article in the June 10, 1998, issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA, 1998; 279:1795-1800).

Peter M. Marzuk, MD, of Cornell University Medical College in Ithaca, New York, and colleagues reviewed New York City medical examiner cases from 1990 through 1995.
