Clinton County Revisited: More Must be Done in Poor, Rural Areas

Although a highly virulent strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis responsible for a 1994 outbreak along the Tennessee-Kentucky border appears to be contained, related cases are still being identified, according to a report from the Kentucky TB Control Program.

The report found that the Clinton County, Kentucky outbreak was exacerbated by a lack of education and access to tuberculosis control resources among public health personnel in the area.
