Flu Vaccination of Day-Care Kids Protects Whole Family

Flu prevention for children in day care extends to the whole family, according to a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study.

The study found that influenza vaccination of day-care kids reduced respiratory disease in other family members.

"The benefits of vaccinating day-care children extends to other family members, particularly school-aged children, and should be evaluated in future studies of influenza vaccine," noted CDC researcher E.S. Hurwitz.
