At least 33 people in the Toledo, Ohio, area have contracted hepatitis A since early November 1998. The virus often is transmitted by eating contaminated food or by contact with dirty hands.
Health investigators from local, state, and federal agencies, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, have been talking to people infected by the virus and with restaurant and grocery store operators, searching for clues about the origin of the virus. ...
