According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 38th Annual Conference on Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology and Prevention, held March 18-21, 1998, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, "Background: Children attending day care have been reported to have a high prevalence of colonization with PNSP. Recent use of antibiotics has been identified as a risk factor, but other factors may also contribute to PNSP and BLHI colonization.
