U.S. Firm Begins Test of Vaccine in Thailand

U.S. researchers said they had permission to begin an advanced trial of an HIV vaccine in Thailand.

VaxGen Inc., Brisbane, California, said 2,500 Thais at high risk for HIV would be recruited for the trial of the AIDSVAX vaccine, which has been tailored to work against the strain of HIV seen most commonly in Asia.
