According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 36th Annual Meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, held November 12-15, 1998, in Denver, Colorado, "In 10/97, the CDC and NACHRI initiated a pediatric (PEDI) network of 47 PHFs to study antimicrobial resistance and nosocomial Infection and assess preventive interventions. 39 (83%) PHFs completed a questionnaire about ID CLS investigated. Of the 32 PHFs for whom data have been analyzed, 29 are teaching institutions and 19 have ID training programs. These PHFs had NICUs (26), PICUs (25), oncology (11), transplant (9), bum (5), combined adult and PEDI bum units (5), or combined adult and PEDI ICUs (1). CLS...
