Most Pediatricians Follow CDC's Polio Vaccination Schedule

The majority of pediatricians in the U.S. are following a polio immunization program of injected vaccine followed by oral vaccine recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice (ACIP) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) as the method having the greatest public health benefit.

This was a finding of a survey of Academy members by Dr. Paul Darden and the AAP Division of Health Policy Research and the AAP Center Child Health Research.
