Many Paths Exist for Licensing Vaccine

by Salynn Boyles -- There are many paths to licensing a vaccine in the United States, according to a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report.

Researcher G. Peter and colleagues from the CDC's National Advisory Committee warned that the U.S. vaccine development network must be closely monitored in the future to ensure the safety and efficacy of new vaccines aimed at populations in America and globally ("Lessons Learned from a Review of the Development of Selected Vaccines," Pediatrics, October 1999;104(4):942-950).
