Female Condoms

Not a Popular Item at STD Clinics

A survey of sexually transmitted disease programs found that roughly one-third had distributed female condoms.

Results of the survey were presented by K. Stone and colleagues from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) at the 127th Annual Meeting of the American Public Health Association (APHA), held November 7-11, 1999 in Chicago, Illinois.

CDC researchers assessed levels of purchase and distribution of female condoms by STD and explored factors that facilitate or hinder these efforts.
