Pneumococcal Disease Still Common in Black AIDS Patients

Pneumococcal disease is still common in young, African American AIDS patients in the U.S., according to a report from San Francisco, California.

Patients with AIDS have a high incidence of invasive pneumococcal disease, but no population-based data are available on secular trends or rates of this disease in specific demographic groups.
