The Binational Health Information System for Epidemiological Surveillance of Mexican migrant workers, tested from 1994 through 1996, enabled epidemiological surveillance data on communicable diseases to be exchanged between the states of Guanajuato in Mexico and Pennsylvania in the U.S.
