CDC Survey Shows Doctors Are Getting the Message: Go Easy on Antibiotics

The use of antibiotics to treat children with respiratory diseases has declined steadily in recent years, according to results of a survey conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

"The decreased use of antibiotics coincides with increased awareness that many bacteria and other disease-causing organisms are developing resistance to antibiotics. Our survey suggests that physicians are getting the message that the overuse of antibiotics can be harmful," said Linda F.
