The study found that the disparity between African American and white infants is not diminished even by better socioeconomic conditions such as education and income.
Rosemarie Hakim, PhD, of the Health Care Financing Administration, and colleagues estimated the rate of compliance with American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines for well child care in the infants' first six months of life, and determined the risks for adequate care.
