Newspaper Reports Questionable Involvement of Schering-Plough in Hepatitis C Coalitions

In what appears to be a bold marketing ploy, drugmaker Schering-Plough reportedly created a number of "grass-roots" hepatitis C coalitions in the U.S. for the purposes of selling its antiviral drug, Rebetron, while ostensibly educating the public about the dangers of the hepatitis C virus, says the Washington Post newspaper.

And now the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is taking a closer look at the company's tactics.
