Risk Assessment and Action Plan Released

Published in Medical Letter on the CDC and FDA, February 11th, 2001

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services/U.S. Food and Drug Administration (HHS/FDA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA/FSIS) released a draft risk assessment of the potential relative risk of listeriosis from eating certain ready-to-eat foods - as well as an action plan designed to reduce the risk of foodborne illness caused by Listeria monocytogenes.
