Record analysis shows slight connection between inflammation and disease

by Terry Hartnett, senior medical writer - Although some patients with diabetes may have symptomatic inflammation, there is no conclusive evidence that swelling causes the disease, say researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

"According to a study from the United States, 'Emerging data suggest that inflammation may play a role in the etiology of diabetes mellitus,'" explains E.S.
