U.S. Army to test company's antibiotics as potential anti-bioterrorism drugs

Antex Biologics Inc. (ANX) reported that the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases has agreed to test certain of the company's antibiotic compounds as potential drugs to be used in the fight against bioterrorism.

Under terms of the agreement, the Army will perform various tests and laboratory assays to determine if Antex's lead antibiotic and other proprietary compounds are potent against fighting anthrax infections and diseases caused by Bacillus anthracis.
