CDC reports asthma still a problem for millions

Asthma remains a major public health problem in the United States despite some evidence that death rates have leveled off and hospitalization rates have declined. In 1999, an estimated 26.7 million people in the United States reported that they had been diagnosed with asthma some time in their lives. An estimated 10.5 million people reported having had an asthma attack in the previous 12 months.
