CDC issues recommendations for correctional settings
Published in Medical Letter on the CDC and FDA, February 16th, 2003
Implementation of these recommendations can reduce transmission of hepatitis infections among adults at risk in both correctional facilities and the outside community. It's estimated that 12-15% of all Americans with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) and 39% of those with hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections were released from a correctional facility during the previous year.
